Neliswa has obtained certification from the Institute of Marketing Management in Finance and Sales and a Retail Business Management National Diploma from Cape Town University of Technology.
Neliswa has over 15 years' experience in destination and tourism marketing. She has worked for organisation such as WESGRO for Trade and Investment Agency, South African Tourism, Cape Winelands District Municipality and the Rio Grande Caxias do Sol. Prior to being re-appointed at SA Tourism in her current role, she worked at the City of Tshwane as the Head of Destination Marketing and has occupied an acting role as an Executive Director of the Tshwane Convention and Visitor's Services Bureau. Her responsibilities included developing and re-positioning the destination brand for the City of Tshwane internationally and locally in order to enhance brand engagement, developed a marketing strategy, hosting international influencers, travel media and travel buyers and the overall profiling of the City of Tshwane at all travel and roadshows.
Neliswa's other achievements include, engaging with international sports teams and securing an international Dutch football team to travel to Tshwane for their pre-season warm ups, hosting top international golf writers to promote the Tshwane Open, developed content and managed the production of Tshwane's travel destination show with BBC travel, and facilitated leads with potential partners in China that led to two bid opportunities.
