Graduated in Commercial Accounts from Narsee Monjee College, Mumbai in 1983

Completed a one-year course in tourism from K.C College of Management Studies – 1984

Established L’orient Travels in 1986, now in its 32nd year. L’orient Travels is a destination management company and specializes in tours within India. L’orient Travels is recognized by the Department of Tourism, Government of India & is member of important travel & trade associations, including business associations.

Produced and published a travel magazine, `Travel-n-Tell’ – 40 pages, A4 format, between 1993-1996. Distributed in Mumbai at newsstands and to subscribers. Travel-n-Tell is now in its 17th year as an email newsletter, `India Unplugged.’

Achieved distinction in Advanced IATA, Travel Management Course Montreal – 2000

Learnt German for three years and obtained a diploma from Mumbai University – 2000.

Lived and worked in Toronto between 2000-2003. Worked with leading organizations: Intair (consolidation), CWT (outside agent) & Thomas Cook (retail selling), Goway (India specialist), Blythe & Company (wholesale travel agent), India Tourist Office – Strategist for promotions & marketing. Been traveling to Stuttgart, & Baden Wuerttemberg Germany since 1995.

Successfully completed a six-month teacher training course in Ashtanga Yoga from Yoga Sanctuary, Toronto in 2003.

Written Travel articles and edits for the following publications between 1998-current: Dreamscapes, Toronto, Travel Impact – Bangkok, ETurbo News – Hawaii, Economic Times – Mumbai, Times Travel – Mumbai, Hindustan Times – Mumbai, Express Travel – Mumbai. Travel Biz Monitor-Mumbai, Good Safari Guide – UK. Continue to write & blog.

Guest Lecturer at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies from 2007-2009, on Tourism- Destination Marketing & Management Studies. Member of Board of studies during the same period. Was given the `Order of Merit’ by the Global Academic Challenge, California, USA in the year 2009 for the project on `Promotion Marketing.’

Appointed India Representative for Stuttgart Marketing & Southwest German Tourist Board in 2010 till date. Achieved a 300% increase in arrivals from India to SouthWest Germany during this period.

Instrumental in initiating & drafting the MOU between the state of Maharashtra & Baden Wuerttemberg for cooperation in the fields of tourism & related service products. This agreement was signed at ITB Berlin between the heads of TMBW & Maharashtra Tourism in 2013.

Attended the Meeting in Delhi convened by the German Ambassador in India, Dr Ney in May 2016 for initiating the `Make & Invest in Germany’ Program for Indian Industrialists & Investors.
